Yep.  Workin’ Christmas Eve.
But that’s okay.  You know why?
I baked.  Cookies.  Lots of ‘em.  I made my traditional Fine Cooking butter cookies with raspberry jam filling and frosting.  And chocolatey cookies sprinkled with salt from Barbara Lynch’s cookbook Stir.  (Run, don’t walk, make these cookies.)  And the best toffee you will ever eat, ever.
That’s right– recipe links.  […]

This is a movie review– of sorts.  It’s also somewhat surreal– Magritte’s Treachery of Images, except instead of this not being a blog post or a movie review, ceci n’est pas ma vie, my life.  At least it’s not the life that I want.
I’ve got about five drafts of this post started, all puttering out.  Much […]

And then it rained frogs…

Oh my God!  Did you hear?!? It snowed today in the Northeast!  It’s going to snow more tomorrow!  And maybe even on Sunday!  We might even get fifteen inches before the weekend’s over!  Which is just over a foot, by my calculation, but NO, it’s like a BLIZZARD or something.  (Let’s humor me and stick […]

It was a good day today for a variety of reasons:

I made it to my 8 am physical therapy appointment on time.
I got a parking space in the hospital garage right.by.the.elevator!
I finished PT in more than enough time to see my PCP.
My PCP looked great after some well-deserved time off.
My PCP agreed with my concerns about my migraine […]

Coming clean

You might wonder why the heck I blog so much. I mean, Dancing with the Stars is on! Well, I’ll tell you a secret. We don’t watch TV. No, really. Seriously! Don’t look at me like that…
It started out because we were just plain cheap. When the Better Half […]

Second sign of the apocalypse

I actually liked something in the Pottery Barn catalog, the Westron Trunk. Better start looking at assisted living facilities. As if I couldn’t find something nice and similar at an independently owned antique shop, instead of giving my money to people who deliberately distress their new furniture to make it look old, see […]
