Monochrome meal

I intentionally put off doing a real grocery trip this weekend, choosing instead to dredge the pantry until today, when our Boston Organics box gets delivered. Here’s last night’s comfort meal– japanese sticky rice with charred sweet onion slices, Soy Boy tofu lin teriyaki-flavored baked tofu, soy sauce, lime juice, rice wine vinegar, and Sriracha, the cure for all ills (or at least all underseasoned food).

I suppose I could have tossed some frozen shelled edamame or peas on there, but I didn’t feel like more vegetables than the onion. It was good for breakfast, too.

  1. I’ve never had tofu before. I really should get around to trying it sooner or later.

Thinker, I’m not a real fan myself, but I like the teriyaki flavored stuff because it’s salty, and can be eaten cold for breakfast when I am not in the mood for anything else. The plain stuff? Meh. Unless it’s in Ma Po Tofu from my favorite chinese place.
